The Sallan Foundation will periodically invite applications for the Sally Prize that will be awarded to students who are enrolled at institutions of higher learning in New York City. The purpose of the Sally Prize is to encourage urban environmental research and its application to urban environmental problem solving. Each award cycle will be organized around a specific substantive theme that will be announced at the beginning of a Sally Prize cycle.
The award consists of an eight week paid summer internship at the Foundation. The Sally Prize winner will work closely with and under the supervision of the Foundation's Executive Director.
General information about the Sally Prize competition will be posted at the beginning of each award cycle and it will also be distributed to career development offices or departmental offices at New York City colleges and universities.
A Selection Committee nominated by the Foundation's Board of Directors will review and rate academic papers submitted by applicants. The Foundation's Board will make the final decision about the Sally Prize winner. The decision-making process for the award will be based on criteria related to Sallan's mission to improve the urban environment by advancing useful knowledge for greener cities.
Potential applicants are invited to sign up below for future Email notification about the first Sallan Award cycle.
