
The Sallan Foundation will periodically invite applications for the Sally Prize that will be awarded to students who are enrolled at institutions of higher learning in New York City.
The purpose of the Sally Prize is to encourage urban environmental research and its application to urban environmental problem solving.
Each award cycle will be organized around a specific substantive theme that will be announced at the beginning of a Sally Prize cycle. Further Info »

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Nancy E. Anderson, Ph.D., Executive Director
Nancy served an as environmental policy maker in New York City government for twenty years. Prior to that time, she taught Sociology and Political Science at the university level. A lifelong New Yorker, she holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and a B.A. in English Literature from New York University.
Marc Brammer, Senior Analyst, Innovest Group
Marc conducts studies and develops environmental ratings of global industrial manufacturers for purposes of investment counsel. He is the founder of the New York City-based non-profit, Climate Rescue. He has an M.A. in Political Theory from the New School and a B.A. from the College of the Atlantic. Prior to joining Innovest, he worked with the University of Maryland International Institute for Ecological Economics.
Jessie C. Gruman, Ph.D.
Jessie is President and Founding Executive Director of the Center for the Advancement of Heath in Washington D.C. She serves as a Board member of several not-for-profit public policy organizations. She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University and a B.A. from Vassar College.
Steven Newman, Vice President for Finance/Chief Operating Officer of the Medical Health and Research Association
Previously, he served as the First Deputy Comptroller of New York City where he oversaw audits, pension fund investments and policy analysis. Steve has both an M.B.A. and a Masters of Engineering from New York University.
Simon Wynn, Esq.
Simon is the Senior Environmental Counsel at the New York State Economic Development Corporation. Previously he served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Protection Bureau of the New York State Attorney General. He holds a B.A. and LL.B from the University of Melbourne as well an LL.M from the University of London and a second LL.M from Columbia University.
